GRIEVANCES PROCESS

You are urged to bring whatever problems/concerns you have encountered to the attention of any GDJ subordinate.

Put your grievance in writing, noting the date of the problem as well as the date of the submission. This written documentation should be given to any GDJ subordinate. He/she will respond to you, in writing, within five days of receipt of your written grievance. Your report and the Agency’s response will be added to your file.

If you find the response is unsatisfactory, you may present your written concerns, along with the written response, to the Executive Director. The Executive Director will then convene a meeting with you, your offendee or offender, and any other concerned parties within 30 days of his/her receipt of the grievance and response. Within 5 calendar days of that meeting, the director will send you or your parents a written response indicating whatever action needs to be taken, which, like in the other reports, will be added to your file. The Executive Director’s decision will be considered final and binding.
